The improvement of a building’s energy efficiency, supplementing the artificial intelligence of management automation systems with a real time simulation environment and self learning algorithms

In cooperation with Smart engineering systems, transport and energy economy Competency centre (VITEKC) from April 1st, 2017 to March 31st, 2018 the company will carry out the project “The improvement of a building’s energy efficiency, supplementing the artificial intelligence of management automation systems with a real time simulation environment and self learning algorithms”.

To improve the quality of the regulation of a buildings engineering management systems, we need to use new and improved methods and technologies for the automation systems management algorithms. Management algorithm quality improvement is the development, simulation and modification of these algorithms in real time and on location. For this purpose Lafivents Ltd. in its research project plans to develop the building automation system iPasse, by carrying out an industrial study, in which there will be created algorithms for building management and automation systems in the Matlab/Simulink environment, as well as experimental designs, so the appropriate technological components can be transferred from a laboratory environment to an artificially created environment, which is closer to real life conditions. In result a technological deployability level will be achieved which will allow us to receive data in real time from the locations experimental management system, also allowing us to collect and analyse that data in the created simulation model. The simulation model will let us evaluate, improve and influence the actions online with the management system algorithms, analysing sensor measurements, building workload, the current energy consumption, preferred parameters and the weather forecast. As a result it will let us improve the efficiency of the management system and decrease the building’s energy consumption.
